Immediate Boil Water Notice for Park Water and Greenwood Water Customers
We are issuing an immediate Boil Water Notice for all customers of Park Water Company and Greenwood Water Corporation. This notice is a precautionary measure due to a recent event in our water distribution system.
- Our water system experienced depressurization when a mainline was struck by power pole construction. Repair teams are currently on site addressing the issue.
- Boil Water: All water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes should be boiled and cooled prior to use. Bring water to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boil for two minutes.
- Use Bottled Water: As an alternative, you may use bottled water for these purposes.
- Disinfect Water: If boiling is not possible, add 1/8 teaspoon (or 8 drops) of unscented household bleach per gallon of water, stir well, and let it stand for at least 30 minutes before use.
- Avoid using appliances and equipment that use tap water, such as ice makers.
- Discard any ice or beverages made with tap water during the affected period.
- Monitor water clarity and report any changes to our customer service department.
Duration: This Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until water sample tests confirm that the water is safe to drink. Water testing is being conducted in accordance with TCEQ regulations. We will notify you immediately once the notice is lifted.
